A Head for Flowers
So over the past month I have been gearing up for the coming holiday season. Of course in so many places, folks are ready to begin their gift shopping and what better places to find somethign special than at various craft markets and shows form now until December. In the interest of being prepared for the shows I am planning on attending, I have been trying to diversify my line.
I've been working on new flower designs to grace lead safe metal headbands that can be used to help create a wonderful hairdo for whatever occasion you want. They can be paired up with a wedding, homecoming, pageant dress to be used as an elegant highlight or used with a messy bun and a pair of jeans for just a little sparkle on any given day.
I have plans to continue to work on my headband series. Hopefully I will have fun with this new line and come up with beautiful and fun new flower designs as well as different combinations of colors and styles of beads to mix it up. In this way I will always be expanding my knowledge of French beaded flowers, perfecting the techniques I have been using for the past 10 years and working on learning new ones that I can add in.

Denton Community Market
In an attempt to meet others and immerse myslef in the local community, last weekend I had a space at the Denton Community Market. This market is held the second Saturday of the month in conjunction with the farmer's market. I brought Ian along and we had a great day. One of his new friends came out and played for a while, I met new folks who graciously invited me to be part of various activities and I even passed out some info about my beadwork.

Bajorek-Waugh wedding
So, those of you following my progress for this wedding might be wondering what happened. Well, the bouquet was made without a hitch, all the hair pieces were great and the mom's loved their corsages. Here are some pics.

Bachelor Buttons for Nicole
As I've been preparing for the big move Texas, one project I had to complete was to clean up my craft area. During one of my cleaning sessions I came across a stem of bachelor buttons I made a few years ago. I had never been quite satisfied with the piece or had any specific use for it. The moment I saw it though, I knew just what to do with it. An acquaintance of mine was getting married and I had wanted to gift her a little something for the wedding. I just knew these purple flowers would be the perfect item for her hair.
First I took the stem apart and to end up with some large flowers and some smaller ones. I used the smaller ones and mounted them onto some bobby pins. Then I fortified them with a hint of glue and viola. Simple hair accessory for a touch of color and a hint of nature.
